Izakaya Sakae

Comments off

Firstly, Izakaya Sakae is delicious.

Tucked away in Izumikyo II you will find this gem right near another Genki favourite Tsubara Tsubara. As you approach, Izakaya Sakae won’t blow you away with anything fancy. A beautiful, Japanese entrance, an understated interior and friendly staff greet you on arrival.

Ta-San and Ka-San have been meticulously preparing Japanese food for over 50 years, to say they know their stuff, is an understatement. If you are in the mood for some beautiful fresh seafood, don’t look past the mixed Sashimi plate. Something to warm the soul? A Sukiyaki or seafood hotpot will warm even the coldest of hearts (Sukiyaki ¥2,600  Yose Nabe ¥1,800).

Izakaya Sakae is also perfect for families or larger groups. Plenty of comfy sunken Japanese seating and a vast menu will mean there is something for everyone. Also, with an English menu it is as easy as it comes if you don’t have the energy to navigate one in Japanese.

If you are looking for a rock solid, classic Japanese feast, Izakaya Sakae is a delicious option.
